Professional Profile

Mark Card currently serves as a City Commissioner for Daytona Beach Shores, where he was appointed in 2023 and elected to a four-year term in 2024. In this role, he represents the city as Director of Economic Development, working to strengthen the Shores’ business landscape through both retention and attraction of new enterprises. A long-standing member of the Port Orange/South Daytona Chamber of Commerce and graduate of the Port Orange/South Daytona Chamber of Commerce Leadership Program, Card has dedicated decades to fostering economic vitality in the region.

Public Safety & Early Career

Card began his career in public safety in 1982 with the Silver Springs Fire Department, rising through the ranks to Lieutenant. He later joined the Marion County Fire Department, where he was a founding member of Marion County Fire Rescue’s Special Emergency Rescue Team (SERT). This elite unit specialized in hazardous materials, diving and high-angle rescues, and large-scale disaster response, including hurricanes. Among his many professional accomplishments, Card successfully completed the State Certified Smoke Diver program—an advanced, highly selective course with a pass rate of only 10 percent. He holds a degree in Fire Science Management, completed his basic fire training at the Florida State Fire College in Ocala, and earned his Emergency Medical Training certification from Central Florida Community College.

Real Estate Career

In 2003, Card transitioned into real estate, joining his wife, Jennifer, as a licensed Florida Realtor. Over the past two decades, he has become a trusted local expert, earning RE/Max Hall of Fame recognition. He also holds advanced professional designations from the National Association of Realtors, including Certified Residential Specialist (CRS) and Seniors Real Estate Specialist (SRES). He ranked in the Top 25 of the 1600 Agents in The Daytona Area Association of Realtors for sales production. 

Community Leadership & Service

Card’s commitment to giving back is reflected in his broad community involvement. He has sponsored local youth sports programs, hosted high school interns, and served in multiple leadership positions, including:

Personal Life

Card resides in Daytona Beach Shores with his wife, Jennifer. Together, they have two sons, Brandon (wife Devon) and Stephen, and are proud grandparents to their granddaughter, Austyn Olivia.
